Bally’s Evansville Casino & Hotel is the first property of its kind in the country to earn a StormReady classification. National Weather Service leaders awarded the Indiana casino an accreditation certificate on Thursday afternoon.
The certification will last for four years, at which point it will need board approval for another term. Bally’s Risk and Safety Manager Chris Mayton noted that the property already ticked a lot of boxes to get accreditation.
casino staff receiving training for the emergency notification system
The most significant recent improvement was the casino staff receiving training for the emergency notification system which allows them to send critical information to guests in a matter of seconds. This can be of tremendous help during severe weather and other types of emergencies, especially when up to 3,000 people could be on the property on certain weekends.
