PointsBet’s PGA Tour Relationship Grows with Exclusive TV Broadcast Odds Integrations and F2P Game

Three-year extension

Australia-based PointsBet and the PGA Tour have extended their sports betting partnership for three years, while also announcing a series of exclusive marketing and branding add-ons.

PointsBet USA took to Twitter as it broke the news on October 4, saying it was looking forward to “enhancing the telecasts” across various broadcast channels.

The deepened partnership will see the global sportsbook operator integrate exclusive PointsBet odds into PGA Tour broadcasts on GOLF Channel, Peacock and — “in the future” — NBC.

According to an official news release, PointsBet can continue to avail itself of the PGA Tour’s library of “archival and b-roll footage.” The sportsbook operator can use this material for betting content preview shows both pre-tournament and post-game. PointsBet can also work selected footage into betting-specific videos, plus distribute highlights to its users.

PointsBet odds integrations, such as leaderboard, hole-by-hole, and lowest group score odds, will also be featured on GOLF Channel’s coverage of the 2021-22 FedExCup regular season.

F2P game coming January

Another highlight of PointsBet’s expanded official sports betting partnership with the global golfing organization is it becoming the exclusive free-to-play (F2P) provider for the PGA Tour.

PGA Tour’s senior VP of media and gaming Norb Gambuzza said his organization was “excited” to continue working with the sportsbook operator to “create innovative sports betting and free to play products” for its fans.

Gambuzza highlighted the continued “tremendous growth” of PointsBet’s golf products. The VP placed extra emphasis on giving golf fans the option to access games in an F2P environment. The PGA Tour news release said the Low6-developed F2P game, exclusively presented by PointsBet in the US, will launch in January 2022.

PGA Tour fans can also enter the F2P game at almost every juncture of a tournament week, with points mechanics directly linked “to live odds featuring games such as outright winner, top-10 and top-30.”

The F2P platform will offer golf fans live in-play games, with weekly prizes including a guaranteed cash prize capped at $5,000.

Strengthening PGA Tour ties

PointsBet isn’t the only official sports betting operator of the PGA Tour. In August 2020, when PointsBet signed its initial partnership with the golfing giant, DraftKings and BetMGM were already at the table.

After yesterday’s partnership extension PointsBet is, however, impressively deepening its relationship with the PGA Tour.

Aitken added that, together with official sports betting partner NBC Sports, “we are at the intersection of golf broadcast and odds integration, an exciting time for bettors and viewers.”
